In April 2022, I had the opportunity to join the automotive industry—an area I knew little about. But once you're in, you find yourself thinking, "Who would've thought I’d end up designing the little screens inside a car?"
To give you some context, the screens I'm referring to are the ones located behind the steering wheel. Internally, in the automotive sector, they’re known as the Kombi, and in English-speaking contexts, they're referred to as the Cockpit or Infotainment.
The project I was brought in for is called FPKM-BASELINE, and the vehicles it targets include the Cupra León, Cupra Terramar, Cupra Formentor (the most popular model so far), Seat León, and Seat León FR.
“After testing with 15 users, the most frequently used features were: Media, Phone, and Navigation.”
Whenever we design for Cupra, we always have to ask ourselves: *How will this look for SEAT?* We always take into account the distinct identity and essence of each brand.
