In March 2024, I entered a competition to define the visual identity for the 650th Anniversary of the Fairs and Festivals of Almagro, Ciudad Real.
Although I didn’t win the competition, my proposal was so well received that I was offered the opportunity to use it for another occasion. In this case, I suggested giving it a second life during the town’s own festivities.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to approach designing a mascot like a Chozo (festival booth), in a way that would go beyond just being a pleasant and amusing design to look at.
One of the key aspects was identifying the insight that all the chozos could benefit from this initiative.
Elements such as roasted chickens, eggplants, raffle plants, and beer bottles have been the perfect moodboard to define the Almagro Fair in 9 stamps.
